Core Purchase Inquiry
Core Purchasing Process
At PowerHouse we have developed a streamlined process for purchasing engine cores from our customers across North America. The process begins when you submit a lead form on this Core Purchase page, providing as many details about your engine core as you can. This initial info allows us to assess your core's compatibility and value.
Upon receiving your application, our team will coordinate the shipment of the core to our facility in Edmonton, Alberta. We prioritize efficient logistics to ensure the core reaches us safely and quickly, minimizing any inconvenience to our customers.
Once the engine core arrives at our facility it undergoes a comprehensive inspection by our teardown technicians. We meticulously evaluate several critical factors to determine the core's condition and rebuildability. Key aspects of our inspection process include:
Completeness
Ensuring the engine core is fully assembled with all major components intact, such as the crankshaft, heads, camshafts, rods, and pistons.
Structural Integrity
Checking for any visible cracks, breaks, or welds in the cylinder block and other major parts, as these can significantly impact the core's value and suitability for remanufacturing.
Operational Damage
Assessing for damage resulting from normal engine use, such as wear and tear, which is acceptable for full core credit.
Non-Operational Damage
Identifying damage from external factors like fire, excessive rust, or unsuccessful salvage attempts, which may affect the core's acceptability.
Based on this inspection we determine a fair and competitive payout that reflects both your core's condition and its current market value.
